Unscathed

I am not sure which it is
Whether we are flying through life
Whether life is flying past us
Perhaps it is a bit of both
As we move in one direction
And life moves in the opposite
Whichever it is
Our interaction with life
Changes us daily

Like the shoreline
Affected by the waves
Some crashing
Some gentle
Each wave bringing something as it comes
Each wave taking something as it leaves
Each changing that shoreline forever
What was, is no longer
What will be, is not yet

It brings to mind a thoughtless phrase
Of how we come through some things
Unscathed

Every breath in
Every breath out
Brings an unstoppable change
Every word in
Every word out
Changing who I am
Into whom I will be

Writing this changes me
Reading it changes you

We are
Scathed

I am in awe of your writing and wish my mind could come up with half the things you can! Lovely :)

I agree with Gill, I am in awe of your writing as well.

The last 2 lines...'writing this changes me, reading it changes you'
noone is ever unscathed.

Thanks again for sharing your talent.

Wow.

Sometimes in the midst of the storm I pray for protection... and sometimes I run out into it face upturned willing it to keep coming, rain harder, join my pain. In the end I don't Want to be unscathed. Just like the story you shared of giving and receiving pieces of our hearts... the scars are beautiful.

Blessings, Whitney
