You are family 

I love you 

I always will

Somehow 

You've translated that 

Into needing you

So, let me be clear 

I don’t need you

I don’t need your help

I don’t need your opinion

I don’t need your approval

I don’t need you to agree with me

On this, or anything else, for that matter

I, really, don’t even need your love

If we are getting down to the core of it

You are a part of my life

You have been for years

But, I don’t approve of how you treat others 

I don’t have to do so

I don’t agree with your stand on some issues

However, I don’t have to approve

I love you 

I don’t need you

If you think loving you 

Means needing you

You don’t really understand either
