All heed the words
Of the poet-comedian
For with levity they draw you in
(Said the spider to the fly)
With a turn of phrase
They twist the shiv
They tear your flesh
And draw your blood
Words of hope
Words of help
Barbed for intent
Entrap you
Go ahead
Laugh your nervous laugh
As the words plunge deeper
As satire flays your heart
Beware the words
Of the poet-comedian
